DESCRIPTION

· The AS5172 is a high-resolution magnetic angular position sensor with a 12-bit PSI5 output, compliant with PSI5 specifications Version 1.3 and 2.1.

· It utilizes Hall sensor technology to measure the orthogonal component of the flux density (Bz) over a full rotation, compensating for external stray magnetic fields with a 14-bit sensor array and analog front-end (AFE).

· The sensor operates up to 16.5V, with overvoltage protection up to +20V and reverse polarity protection up to -18V.

· It is available in TSSOP14 and SIP packages, with the SIP package integrating necessary decoupling capacitors for system level ESD and EMC compliance.

· The AS5172 is defined as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) according to ISO26262 and is fully tested for system level EMC and ESD according to OEM standards.
