DESCRIPTION

· The Atmel® ATA6836 is a fully protected hex half-bridge driver designed in Smart Power SOI technology.

· It controls up to six different loads via a microcontroller in automotive and industrial applications.

· Each of the six high-side and six low-side drivers can drive currents up to 650mA.

· The drivers form six half-bridges and are controlled via a standard serial data interface.

· It supports various loads including bulbs, resistors, capacitors, inductors, and DC motors.

· The IC offers protection against short-circuit, overtemperature, and undervoltage conditions.

· It features various diagnosis functions and a very low quiescent current in standby mode.

· It is qualified for automotive applications with EMC and ESD protection.



FEATURES

· Six high-side and six low-side drivers forming six half-bridge outputs.

· Capable of switching various loads (DC motors, bulbs, resistors, capacitors, inductors).

· RDSon typically 1.0 Ω at 25°C, max 1.8 Ω at 150°C.

· Up to 650-mA output current.

· Very low quiescent current IS < 20µA in standby mode.

· Outputs are short-circuit protected.

· Overtemperature prewarning and protection.

· Undervoltage protection.

· Various diagnosis functions (short circuit, open load, overtemperature, power supply fail).

· Serial data interface with 5V compatibility, up to 2MHz clock frequency.

· Operation voltage up to 40V.

· Daisy chaining possible.

· Available in SO28 or QFN24 power package.
