Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The bq2204A is a CMOS SRAM Non-volatile Controller Unit designed to convert up to four banks of standard CMOS SRAM into nonvolatile read/write memory.

· It includes a precision comparator to monitor the 5V VCC input for out-of-tolerance conditions, forcing the chip-enable outputs inactive to write-protect SRAM.

· During power failure, it switches SRAMs from VCC to one of two 3V backup supplies and write-protects them until a power-valid condition is restored.

· A two-input decoder selects one of up to four SRAM banks during normal operation.



FEATURES

· Monitors and switches power for 3-volt battery-backup applications.

· Provides write-protect control for SRAM.

· Includes a 2-input decoder for controlling up to four SRAM banks.

· Supports 3-volt primary cell inputs.

· Offers less than 10ns chip-enable propagation delay.

· Operates with 5% or 10% supply tolerance.
