7.3 Wiring Procedures
Inserting Wires
- Orient module/terminal connector to match wiring diagram.
- Secure module or terminal connector (clamp if detached).
- Insert tool into clamp release hole (press against side furthest from terminal numbers) and press straight down until bottom is reached.
- Insert stripped wire into field wiring hole.
- Pull out tool to engage spring clamp.
- Test wire security by gentle tugging.
Removing Wires
- Insert tool into clamp release hole and press straight down.
- Pull wire out of field wiring hole.
- Remove tool to reset spring clamp.
8. Mounting & Unmounting Instructions
8.1 Mounting Steps
- De-energize field devices connected to the terminal connector.
- Orient groov EPIC chassis with module connector numbers right-side up (0 on left).
- Hold module at 45° angle, align alignment tab with chassis slot.
- Pivot module down to snap into chassis connector.
- Lift module cover, tighten hold-down screw (3.5 in-lb torque).
- Install terminal connector (if not pre-installed) and tighten connector screw (2.5 in-lb torque).
- Wire field devices per pinout instructions.
- Close module cover (adjust to higher position for thick wires if needed).
- Restore power (if previously powered down).
8.2 Unmounting Steps
- De-energize field devices connected to the terminal connector.
- Lift module cover to access wiring and hold-down screw.
- Remove wiring:
- Remove hold-down screw.
- Pull up on module grip tab to release from chassis connector, then remove module.
- Restore power (if applicable).
