DESCRIPTION

· The M74HC164 is a high-speed CMOS 8-bit serial-in parallel-out (SIPO) shift register.

· It is fabricated using silicon gate C2MOS technology.

· Data is entered serially through one of two inputs (A or B), and each low-to-high clock transition shifts data one place to the right.

· A low level on the clear input asynchronously clears the register, forcing all Q outputs low.

· All inputs are protected against static discharge and transient excess voltage.
