DESCRIPTION

· The M74HCT164 is a high-speed CMOS 8-bit serial-in parallel-out (SIPO) shift register fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology.
· It features serial data entry with outputs from each of the eight stages, and data can be entered through one of two inputs (A or B).
· A low level on the clear input asynchronously clears the register, forcing all Q outputs low.
· Designed to interface directly with HSC 2MOS systems, TTL, and NMOS components.
· All inputs are protected against static discharge and transient excess voltage.

· High-speed operation with a typical propagation delay (tPD) of 24 ns at VCC = 4.5V.
· Low power dissipation with a maximum ICC of 4µA at TA=25°C.
· TTL-compatible inputs with VIH = 2V (MIN) and VIL = 0.8V (MAX).
