  • Monolithic silicon IC integrating photodiode, trans-impedance amplifier, voltage regulator, Schmitt trigger and NPN open-collector output transistor.
  • Recessed lens provides wide acceptance angle and good mechanical protection.
  • High noise immunity thanks to on-chip Schmitt hysteresis.
  • Internal 10 kΩ pull-up resistor (chip-to-VCC) gives “active-high” logic output.

  • Keep lens clean; recessed design reduces dust accumulation but does not eliminate it.
  • Maximum continuous irradiance 10 mW cm⁻² (avoid direct sunlight with focusing optics).
  • For reliable switching maintain Ee on surface ≥ 1.5 × EeT(+)max in the “ON” state and ≤ 0.7 × EeT(–)min in the “OFF” state.
  • Match LED drive current to achieve 0.3 – 0.5 mW cm⁻² at working distance for 25 % margin.
