DESCRIPTION

· The TPS54231 is a 2-A, 28-V input, non-synchronous step-down DC-DC converter integrating a low RDS(on) high-side MOSFET.

· It features a pulse skipping Eco-mode™ for high efficiency at light loads and a 1-μA shutdown supply current, suitable for battery-powered applications.

· The device employs current mode control with internal slope compensation, simplifying external compensation and reducing component count.

· It includes overvoltage transient protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, frequency fold back, and thermal shutdown for robust operation.

· Available in an 8-pin SOIC package optimized for thermal performance.
