DESCRIPTION
· The UCC3817A and UCC3818A family provides all necessary functions for active power factor corrected preregulators.
· Achieves near unity power factor by shaping the AC input line current waveform to correspond to the AC input line voltage.
· Utilizes average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current.
· Designed in Texas Instrument's BiCMOS process with features like lower start-up current, lower power dissipation, overvoltage protection, and improved current amplifier.

· Controls Boost Preregulator to Near-Unity Power Factor.
· Limits Line Distortion and operates worldwide.
· Includes Overvoltage Protection and Accurate Power Limiting.
· Features Average Current Mode Control and Improved Noise Immunity.
· Operates at 12-V to 17-V with a frequency range of 6kHz to 220kHz.
