DESCRIPTION

· The UCC2819A/UCC3819A is designed for active power factor corrected preregulators, achieving near unity power factor by shaping the AC-input line current to match the AC-input line voltage waveform.

· It features average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current, and includes enhancements like lower start-up current, reduced power dissipation, overvoltage protection, and a leading-edge modulation technique to minimize ripple current in the bulk capacitor.

· The device allows for programmable output voltage via the error amplifier's noninverting input.
