DESCRIPTION
· The UCC3817A and UCC3818A family provides essential functions for active power factor corrected preregulators.
· Achieves near unity power factor by shaping the AC input line current waveform to match the AC input line voltage.
· Utilizes average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current.
· Features lower start-up current, lower power dissipation, overvoltage protection, and improved current amplifier for reduced distortion at light loads.
FEATURES
· Controls boost preregulator to near-unity power factor.
· Limits line distortion and operates on worldwide line voltages.
· Includes overvoltage protection and accurate power limiting.
· Features average current mode control and improved noise immunity.
· Operates from 12-V to 17-V with a frequency range of 6 kHz to 220 kHz.
