DESCRIPTION

· The UCCx817 and UCCx818 family are designed for active power factor-corrected preregulators, shaping AC input line current to match AC input line voltage for near-unity power factor.

· Features include average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current, and BiCMOS process for lower start-up current and power dissipation.

· Includes overvoltage protection, shunt UVLO detect circuitry, leading-edge modulation for reduced ripple current, and a low-offset current amplifier for reduced distortion at light loads.

· Controls Boost Preregulator to achieve near-unity power factor.

· Limits line distortion and operates worldwide.
