DESCRIPTION

· The UCC3972/3 are BiCMOS Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) controllers designed for notebook computers and portable applications.

· They provide efficient CCFL backlight power supply in a compact 8-pin TSSOP package.

· These controllers consume less than 1mA of operating current, enhancing system efficiency.

· Integrated features include feedback-controlled PWM driver, open lamp protection, startup delay, and synchronization circuitry.

· They operate with input voltages from 4.5V to 25V and support analog and low-frequency dimming modes.

· The UCC3973 includes a programmable voltage clamp to protect the transformer from overvoltage.
