Types of FETs

There are two types of Field Effect Transistors:

  • Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET)
  • Metal oxide semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET)

Field-Effect Transistors (FETs): A type of voltage-controlled semiconductor device that uses the electric field effect to control the flow of current. FETs are widely used in amplifiers, switching circuits, and electronic signal processing applications.

Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs): A special type of FET with high input impedance and fast switching characteristics. MOSFETs are widely used in digital circuits, power amplifiers, and RF amplifiers for high-speed electronic devices.
