DESCRIPTION

· The AD5933 is a high precision impedance converter system integrating a frequency generator and a 12-bit, 1 MSPS ADC.

· It excites external complex impedances with a known frequency and processes the response through a DFT algorithm.

· The system calculates impedance magnitude and phase using real and imaginary data from the I2C interface.

FEATURES

· Programmable excitation voltage up to 100 kHz with a 27-bit frequency resolution.

· Impedance measurement range from 1 kΩ to 10 MΩ, extendable to 100 Ω with additional circuitry.

· Includes an internal temperature sensor with ±2°C accuracy and phase measurement capability.

· Operates from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, suitable for temperatures from −40°C to +125°C.

· Available in a 16-lead SSOP package, qualified for automotive applications.
