DESCRIPTION

· The MIC5156/5157/5158 are Super LDO™ Regulator Controllers designed for high-current low-dropout linear voltage regulation.

· They support fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5.0V, or 12V, with the MIC5158 being programmable from 1.3V to 36V using external resistors.

· Available in 8-pin DIP/SOIC (MIC5156) and 14-pin DIP/SOIC (MIC5157/5158), operating from -40°C to +85°C.

FEATURES

· Low operating current (4.5mA typical) and standby current (<1µA typical).

· Minimal external components required, with optional current limit (35mV threshold).

· High accuracy: 1% initial output voltage tolerance, 2% over temperature.

· Internal charge pump voltage tripler (MIC5157/8) for gate drive voltage.

· Enable pin for regulator activation/shutdown, with internal gate-to-source protective clamp.

APPLICATIONS
