DESCRIPTION

· The LT1248 is a power factor controller designed for universal off-line power systems, utilizing fixed high-frequency PWM current averaging to minimize line current distortion and enhance system stability without the need for slope compensation.

· It incorporates a multiplier with a square gain function from the voltage amplifier to reduce AC gain at light loads, maintaining low distortion and stability.

· The controller includes features to filter out line switching noise, minimizing the line current dead zone with low bias voltage at the current input.

· It offers robust protection features such as peak current limiting and overvoltage protection, and supports operation frequencies up to 300kHz.
