DESCRIPTION

· The LTC4412 is a Low Loss PowerPath™ Controller in a ThinSOT package.

· It controls an external P-channel MOSFET to create a near ideal diode function for power switchover or load sharing.

· It allows efficient OR’ing of multiple power sources, extending battery life and reducing self-heating.

· The voltage drop across the MOSFET is typically 20mV when conducting.

· Automatically disconnects the battery from the load when an auxiliary power source is connected.

· Supports operation from one to six Li-Ion cells in series with a wide supply operating range.

· Features a low quiescent current of 11µA, independent of load current.

· Includes an internal voltage clamp for MOSFET protection in the gate driver.

· The STAT pin can enable an auxiliary P-channel MOSFET power switch or indicate to a microcontroller that an auxiliary supply is connected.

· The CTL input allows the user to force the primary MOSFET off and the STAT pin low.

· Available in a low profile (1mm) ThinSOT package.
