DESCRIPTION

· The MAX17058/MAX17059 ICs are compact fuel gauges designed for lithium-ion (Li+) batteries in portable devices.

· MAX17058 supports single Li+ cell, while MAX17059 supports two Li+ cells in series.

· Utilizes ModelGauge™ algorithm for accurate state-of-charge (SOC) tracking without the need for current-sense resistors or battery-learn cycles.

· Features temperature compensation via system microcontroller and debounces initial voltage measurements for improved SOC estimation.

· Available in 0.9mm x 1.7mm WLP or 2mm x 2mm TDFN packages.

FEATURES

· Precision voltage measurement of ±7.5mV per cell.

· ModelGauge algorithm ensures accurate SOC, compensates for temperature and load variations, and avoids error accumulation.

· Low quiescent current of 23μA.

· Battery-insertion debounce uses the best of 16 samples for initial SOC estimation.
