DESCRIPTION

· The NCP1602 is a 6-pin PFC controller designed for driving PFC boost stages, utilizing the Valley Synchronized Frequency Fold-back (VSFF) method for enhanced efficiency.

· It operates in Critical Conduction Mode (CrM) when Vcontrol exceeds a programmable threshold, and linearly reduces frequency to about 30 kHz below this threshold, optimizing efficiency at both nominal and light loads.

· The device is housed in a TSOP6 package, requiring minimal external components for robust and compact PFC stages.

FEATURES

· Near-Unity Power Factor and Critical Conduction Mode (CrM) operation.

· Valley Synchronized Frequency Fold-back (VSFF) for low frequency operation at low current levels.
