The RT8231BGQW is a complete power supply controller designed for DDR2/DDR3/DDR3L/LPDDR3/DDR4/LPDDR4 memory systems. It integrates a synchronous PWM Buck controller with a 1.5A sink/source tracking linear regulator and buffered low noise reference. Manufactured by Richtek Technology Corporation, this device is optimized for high efficiency and excellent transient response in notebook computers and other applications requiring low-voltage chipset RAM supplies.

- PWM Controller: Provides low quiescent current, high efficiency, excellent transient response, and high DC output accuracy.
- Constant On-Time PWM Control: Handles wide input/output voltage ratios with ease and provides 100ns “instant-on” response to load transients.
- High Efficiency: Achieved by eliminating the current-sense resistor found in traditional current mode PWMs.
- 1.5A Sink/Source LDO: Maintains fast transient response with only a 10μF ceramic output capacitor.
- Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) and Under-Voltage Protection (UVP): Ensures safe operation.
- Thermal Shutdown: Protects the device from overheating.
