DESCRIPTION

· The SN54HCT540 and SN74HCT540 are octal buffers and line drivers with 3-state outputs, designed for efficient PCB layout with inputs and outputs on opposite sides.

· These devices feature a data flow-through pinout and are compatible with TTL voltage levels, ensuring high performance similar to the 'HCT240 devices.

FEATURES

· Operates within a voltage range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V, with a maximum low power consumption of 80 µA.

· Offers a typical propagation delay of 12 ns and can drive up to ±6 mA at 5 V.

· Features low input current of 1 µA max and high-current 3-state outputs capable of interfacing directly with a system bus or driving up to 15 LSTTL loads.

· The 3-state control gate is a 2-input NOR, ensuring all outputs are in a high-impedance state if either output-enable (OE1 or OE2) input is high.
