Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The CDCE906 is a programmable 3-PLL clock synthesizer/multiplier/divider.

· It is designed for generating precise video and audio system clocks from multiple sampling frequencies.

· The device operates with a 3.3-V power supply and is packaged in a 20-pin TSSOP.

· It supports easy in-circuit programming via SMBus data and includes an integrated PLL loop filter.


FEATURES

· Programmable Down Spread SSC Modulation with options of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 3%.

· High-performance 3:6 PLL based clock synthesizer/multiplier/divider.

· Programmable Output Slew-Rate Control (SRC) to reduce system EMI.

· User programmable PLL frequencies and EEPROM programming without high voltage.

· Operates within a commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.

· Accepts crystal frequencies from 8 MHz up to 54 MHz and LVCMOS or differential input frequencies up to 167 MHz.

· Six LVCMOS outputs with frequencies up to 167 MHz, capable of being programmed for complementary signals.


APPLICATIONS

· Suitable for generating precise video (27 MHz or 54 MHz) and audio system clocks.

· Ideal for applications requiring multiple sampling frequencies (fS = 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48, 96 kHz).

· Effective in systems where low period jitter (typically 60 ps) and spread spectrum clocking (SSC) are required to lower system EMI.

· Useful in environments where programmable center spread SSC modulation (±0.1%, ±0.25%, and ±0.4%) is beneficial.
