DESCRIPTION



· The TC74VHC164 is a high-speed CMOS 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register.

· Fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology, it combines high-speed operation with low power dissipation.

· It features a clock input, an overriding clear input, and two serial data inputs (A, B), where one can be used as a data enable.

· The device includes an input protection circuit, allowing 0 to 5.5 V to be applied to input pins regardless of the supply voltage.

· Suitable for interfacing 5 to 3 V systems and battery backup systems, it prevents device destruction due to mismatched supply and input voltages.

· High speed: f max = 175 MHz (typ.) at V CC = 5 V.

· Low power dissipation: I CC = 4 μA (max) at Ta = 25°C.

· High noise immunity: V NIH = VNIL = 28% V CC (min).

· Power down protection on all inputs.

· Wide operating voltage range: V CC (opr) = 2 to 5.5 V.

· Pin and function compatible with 74ALS164.
