DESCRIPTION

· The TPS201xA family of power distribution switches is designed for applications with heavy capacitive loads and potential short circuits.

· These devices feature 50-mΩ N-channel MOSFET high-side power switches controlled by logic enable compatible with 5-V and 3-V logic.

· Internal charge pump controls power-switch rise and fall times to minimize current surges during switching.

· The charge pump requires no external components and operates from supplies as low as 2.7 V.

· The switch limits output current to a safe level in constant-current mode when the load exceeds the current-limit threshold or a short is present.

· Thermal protection shuts off the switch to prevent damage from continuous heavy overloads and short circuits.

· Automatic recovery from thermal shutdown occurs once the device cools sufficiently.

· Internal circuitry ensures the switch remains off until valid input voltage is present.
