DESCRIPTION



· The UCC5670 is a SCSI multimode terminator that supports both single-ended (SE) and low-voltage differential (LVD) termination.

· It facilitates the transition from single-ended to LVD SCSI parallel interface (SPI-2, SPI-3, SPI-4).

· LVD configuration is essential for higher SCSI speeds and reduced skew budgets.

· It is compatible with Ultra2, Ultra3/Ultra160, and Ultra320 standards, supporting speeds up to Fast-320.

· The UCC5670 is not compatible with High Power Differential (HIPD) devices and switches to a high impedance state when such devices are detected.

· It is available in a 36-pin MWP package.

· Auto Selection between Single Ended (SE) or Low Voltage Differential (LVD) Termination.

· Compliance with SCSI-1, SCSI-2, SCSI-3 SPI, Ultra(Fast-20), Ultra2 (SPI-2 LVD), Ultra3/Ultra160(SPI-3), and Ultra320 (SPI-4) standards.

· Operates with a TERMPWR voltage range of 2.7-V to 5.25-V.

· Includes Differential Fail-Safe Bias.

· Pin compatible with UCC5630A, featuring Digital SPI-3 Mode Change/Filter Delay.

· Thermal packaging designed for low junction temperature and improved MTBF.



APPLICATIONS



· Suitable for bridging the transition from single-ended to LVD SCSI parallel interfaces.

· Ideal for applications requiring higher SCSI speeds and reduced skew budgets.

· Used in systems compliant with Ultra2, Ultra3/Ultra160, and Ultra320 standards.

· Not recommended for use with High Power Differential (HIPD) devices.
