Introduction Of Junction gate field-effect transistors (JFET)
Junction gate field-effect transistors (JFETs) function as electronically controlled switches, amplifiers, or voltage-controlled resistors. When a potential difference of the correct polarity is applied between the gate and source terminals, it enhances the resistance to current flow, resulting in reduced current through the channel between the source and drain terminals. JFETs do not require a biasing current since charge flows through a semiconducting channel connecting the source and drain terminals.
