Description of Modems - ICs and Modules
Interface Modem ICs and Modules are devices that either modulate or demodulate signals coming from telephone or cable lines so they can be sent from a computer. The data formats they use include things like ASK, FSK, Bell 202, HART, and a bunch of others (V.21, V.22, V.23, V.32, V.34, V.90, V.92). These modems support different baud rates, which are speeds for sending data. The rates can be selected from options like 300, 1.2k, 2.4k, up to 56k, and even 200k. They come in different forms, like socket, surface mount, or through-hole for easy installation.
Modems - ICs and Modules are basically chips (ICs) and pre-made parts that help devices talk to each other over different networks. A modem (short for modulator-demodulator) takes digital data from a computer or device and turns it into a format that can be sent over things like phone lines, radio signals, or the internet—and it works the other way too.
