DESCRIPTION

· Synchronous, presettable 4-bit decade and binary counters with internal carry look-ahead circuitry for high-speed counting designs.

· SN54ALS162B is a 4-bit decade counter; SN54ALS161B, SN54ALS163B, SN54AS161, and SN54AS163 are 4-bit binary counters.

· Synchronous operation ensures outputs change simultaneously, eliminating counting spikes associated with asynchronous counters.

· Buffered clock input triggers flip-flops on the rising edge of the clock waveform.

· Fully programmable, allowing preset to any number between 0 and 9 or 15.

· Synchronous load and clear functions for precise control.

· Package options include plastic small-outline (D), shrink small-outline (DB), ceramic chip carriers (FK), standard plastic (N), and ceramic (J) DIPs.
