DESCRIPTION

· The SN54HC161 and SN74HC161 are synchronous, presettable 4-bit binary counters with internal carry look-ahead for high-speed counting applications.

· Synchronous operation ensures all flip-flops are clocked simultaneously, eliminating output counting spikes typical in ripple-clock counters.

· These devices feature a buffered clock input that triggers flip-flops on the rising edge of the clock waveform.
