DESCRIPTION

· The NCP2820 is a cost-effective mono Class-D audio power amplifier delivering 2.65 W to a 4.0 Ω load from a 5.0 V supply in BTL configuration.

· It provides 1.4 W to an 8.0 Ω BTL load with less than 1% THD+N, eliminating the need for an output filter with inductive transducers.

· With over 90% efficiency and low shutdown current, it extends battery life and reduces junction temperature.

· It processes analog inputs using PWM, reducing output noise and THD compared to sigma-delta modulators.

· It supports independent gain for summing signals from multiple audio sources, suitable for driving earpieces, loudspeakers, and melody ringers in cellular handsets.

· Features a low 42 µV noise floor and zero pop/click noise, with a fast 1 ms start-up time for the NCP2820A version.
