DESCRIPTION

· The TMS320C54V90 is a high-performance modem solution designed for embedded systems.

· It integrates a complete modem using two chips: the TMS320C54V90 DSP and the Si3016 line-side DAA.

· Supports serial (RS-232) and 8-bit peripheral connections to host systems.

· Utilizes DSP and proprietary firmware for modem signal processing, V.42/V.42bis compression, and AT command interpretation.

· Supports data rates from 300 bps to 56 Kbps with various modulation standards (V.90, V.34, V.32bis, etc.).

· Includes FAX capabilities with ITU-T V.17, V.29, V.27ter modulations and TIA/EIA 578 Class 1 interface.

· Features V.42 or MNP Class 3 and 4 error control, V.42bis compression, and Caller ID.

· Equipped with non-volatile EEPROM configuration storage and worldwide telecom approvals.

· Provides parallel phone support, surge protection, and a parallel host port interface.

· Includes an integral serial interface (UART), autobaud, and a transformerless silicon DAA.

· On-chip peripherals include a programmable wait-state generator, PLL clock generator, and multichannel buffered serial ports.

· Power consumption control with IDLE1, IDLE2, and IDLE3 instructions.

· On-chip scan-based emulation logic and IEEE Std 1149.1 (JTAG) boundary scan logic.
