· The TJA1042 is a high-speed CAN transceiver designed for automotive applications, interfacing between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus.
· It belongs to NXP's third-generation high-speed CAN transceivers, offering enhanced EMC and ESD performance.
· Features include passive behavior when powered off, low-current Standby mode with bus wake-up, and compatibility with 3.3V to 5V microcontrollers.
· Compliant with ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284 standards, supporting CAN FD fast phase up to 5 Mbit/s.
· Variants TJA1042B and TJA1042C offer shorter propagation delays, suitable for larger network topologies.
