DESCRIPTION

· The UCCx817 and UCCx818 family is designed for active power factor-corrected preregulators, achieving near-unity power factor by shaping the AC input line current waveform to correspond to the AC input line voltage. It features average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current, and is built using Texas Instrument's BiCMOS process, offering lower start-up current, lower power dissipation, overvoltage protection, and improved current amplifier to reduce distortion at light load conditions.
