DESCRIPTION

· The UCC2819A/UCC3819A is designed for active power factor corrected preregulators, ensuring near unity power factor by aligning the ac-input line current waveform with the ac-input line voltage.

· It features average current mode control for stable, low distortion sinusoidal line current, and includes enhancements like lower start-up current, reduced power dissipation, overvoltage protection, and a leading-edge modulation technique to minimize ripple current in the bulk capacitor.

· The device allows for programmable output voltage via the error amplifier's noninverting input.
