DESCRIPTION

· The PCA9532 is a 16-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander designed for LED dimming in 256 steps, ideal for RGB color mixing and backlight applications.
· It features an internal oscillator with two programmable blink rates and duty cycles for PWM output control.
· LED brightness is adjusted by setting a blink rate above 100 Hz and varying the duty cycle to control the average current.
· The device allows for individual LED control with commands to turn LEDs ON, OFF, or set to BLINK RATE 1 or 2.
· Unused bits can serve as GPIO for additional I/O needs like sensors or switches.
· Includes a hardware reset pin and supports up to eight devices on the same bus via three address pins.
